The "ER" spring collet system is the most widely used clamping system around today, it was originaly developed and patented by Rego-Fix in 1973, many companies worldwide use it as clamping system for tool holders. There are different types of ER spring collets, we carry A and AA grade, spring collets specifically designed for end mills, spring collets designed to hold taps and the standard spring collet for general purpose use. When selecting your spring collet have in mind that there are different types, each one designed to better suit a specific job. Not all spring collets are the same, there are different qualities and accuracies.
Our Metaltech Tools Spring Collet are made of high strength steel and come in two grades. This spring collet set is for the ER11. The holder is not included on the set, you must order it according to your needs, you can use ER or ER+holders with this collets set. The wrench is not included on the set, you must order it according to the type of nut you are using, you can use ER or ER+ nuts with this collets set. Our collets have a wide clamping range thanks to it design.
We strongly recommend use the proper spring collet for each tool, bad performance of the tool and tool breaking is caused most of the times for the improper use of the tool holders. Don't forget to insert the tool into the collet and the collet into the nut before inserting the collet into the chuck.
